As owner and sole operator of Dermatology Specialists of St. Louis Dr. Erin Gardner delivers expert diagnostic and surgical care to patients living with skin cancer. Offering state-of-the-art treatment options, Dr. Erin Gardner is extensively trained in Mohs micrographic surgery for non-melanoma skin cancers. Dr. Erin Gardner performs excisions, dermatopathology, and reconstructive surgery to help control or cease the progression of skin cancer. Dr. Erin Gardner conducted his fellowship training in Mohs surgery through The Methodist Hospital System in Houston, Texas. Dr. Leonard Goldberg, a distinguished surgeon who learned the surgical methods from Dr. Frederic Mohs himself, trained Dr. Erin Gardner in the surgical procedure at his own practice, DermSurgery Associates. Upon completing his training, Dr. Erin Gardner relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, where he launched his practice. An alumnus of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Dr. Erin Gardner attended the medical school as a Fulbright and Swyers Foundation Scholar. He fulfilled an internship in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital through the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and performed a residency in dermatology at the Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. During his tenure with Vanderbilt University, he participated in the American Medical Association’s Vanderbilt Medical Chapter, for which he served as Secretary for a year, and attended the 16th annual meeting of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, where he was presented with the award of Best Paper Submitted by a Resident/Student in the Dermatology/Plastic Surgery section. An active member of professional organizations in his field, Dr. Erin Gardner presides on the Board of Directors and serves as Treasurer for the Missouri Dermatological Society, of which he is a Fellow. He is also a Fellow of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS). When he is not attending to his duties as a principal at Dermatology Specialists of St. Louis, Dr. Erin Gardner enjoys reading, running, mountain climbing with his wife, and teaching mathematics to his daughters. He also supports and is actively involved with community organizations, such as Central Presbyterian Church and Central Christian School.
